Jim Kosiara is a leading expert in HUD compliance with more than 23 years of experience in the real estate industry. Jim serves as a consultant to Multihousing.com through Tenement Managing Group LLC (“Tenement”), a company he and Jay Biggins founded in 2019, focusing on helping firms navigate the HUD approval process.
In his role, Jim develops and maintains HUD database content, mitigates HUD flag violations, develops Affirmative Fair Housing Marketing Plans (AFHMP) and Limited English Proficiency/Language Assistance Plans (LEP/LAP), prepares site team members for upcoming MOR & REAC inspections, and responds to any violations and inquiries.
Prior to founding Tenement, Jim held a number of roles at highly respected organizations including Greystar/Riverstone Residential Group where he served as the Director of HUD Services. Prior to that, he served as a Project Manager at AIMCO as well as the lead on the NAHMA Communities of Quality (COQ) Program. During his tenure, Jim helped AIMCO achieve Corporate Partner status with 55% of their portfolio receiving COQ designations, and increased the number of Neighborhood Network Centers by 230%.
